MEDIA AWARENESS

 

Knowing how the media works and how to play the media game can open up fantastic profile–raising opportunities for your organisation and help you to reach mass audiences.

 

Training objective

This session will give you a greater understanding of how the media works and confidence in using the media to pro-actively promote your organisation and to manage difficult issues of potential media interest.

 

Topics covered

Media motivations and needs, life in the newsroom, the litmus test of a story idea, pitching to a journalist, key message grabs and risk management messages.

 

Format

A two-hour general session for up to 25 participants, or a 3-4-hour session for 12-15 participants with group discussion and workshopping of customised scenarios.
