Leading aged care provider acquires Sunshine Coast aged care facility

Australian and family-owned aged care provider, McKenzie Aged Care Group has today announced that it will become the owners and managers of Buderim Views Aged Care on 30 April 2010, subject to Commonwealth licence transfer.

Buderim Views Aged Care, a state-of-the-art assisted living facility in Buderim on the Sunshine Coast, will become the seventh McKenzie Group facility and the fifth facility located in South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

McKenzie Group CEO Rob Hutchison said that the Group was delighted with the acquisition of Buderim, which is in line with its business plan of steady, strategic growth.

“We’ve worked hard to build a strong reputation in the aged care sector, based on the quality of our residents’ experiences, as well as our audit performance within the Commonwealth Quality compliance program,” said Mr Hutchison.

“We’re pleased that our reputation, strong business record and direction have positioned us to acquire Buderim.”

Buderim Views Aged Care is an established aged care facility which caters for residents with both low and high care needs and features a specialist dementia wing, complete with its own sensory garden.

“Buderim is a high quality facility, with a vibrant community of residents and staff who have a strong commitment to providing residents with the best quality of care. This matches our philosophy which demands a resident-focused approach to aged care within an environment that both respects and supports those we care for, while facilitating a rich quality of life,” said Mr Hutchison.

“We’ve also been impressed by the investment in technology at Buderim. With the latest IT infrastructure, Buderim will be able to keep pace with rapid advances in clinical care management technology, ensuring residents continue to receive the best quality of care into the future.

The facility’s location was another key factor in the McKenzie Group’s decision to acquire Buderim.

“We’re attracted to owning and managing facilities in Queensland because of the strong demand for quality aged care services and the lifestyle, as well as the natural appeal of the region,” said Mr Hutchison.

Mr Hutchison said the McKenzie Group is working closely with the current owners of Buderim Views Aged Care to ensure a smooth transition, particularly in continuing the high standards of service and care to residents.

“It will be business as usual at Buderim Views Aged Care. We’re looking forward to meeting Buderim residents and staff in the coming months and welcoming them to the wider McKenzie family,” Mr Hutchison said.
